Glutathione Facts
Glutathione is an amino acid that prevents damage to important cellular components in the human body by debris in the air, such as peroxides or Free Radicals. Free Radicals are certain atoms in the air that damage certain cells in an organism, causing aging. Glutathione is a unique molecule in that it is actually inside a cell, and naturally produced by the body, thus making it perfect to fend off the Free Radical molecules. This makes glutathione very important overall, and the most important amino acid.
It does more than just help slow down the aging process. It also fights against the effects of aging, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, coronary diseases, and arthritis.
But glutathione can also do much more than that. It helps block drug and air pollutants from causing too much harm on the body, but studies have also shown that if given to women undergoing chemotherapy, it can help fend off some of the negative side effects.
So how can you get more glutathione? It is made naturally within the human body, but if you do for whatever reason need more, than its best to get it taken by shot. Glutathione is not absorbed into the body well orally, so you need to take an injection directly into the vein. Another way is to take precursors, which are enzymes that help stimulate growth of certain things within the body, in this case glutathione.
However, just like any other kind of artificial injection there are risks. In small/limited injections it is perfectly safe. But if you take too much, too often or if you have milk protein allergy or major organ transplant.
There are also natural ways to get more glutathione. Broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower all contain levels of cyanohydroxybutene, which increases the amount of glutathione made in the body. Milk and other dairy products also result in elevated levels of glutathione. But there is no need to worry about elevated levels when you naturally ingest it in food. Vitamin D, the vitamin that helps the body process calcium, also helps the body due to its association with the calcium in dairy.
If you’ve been concerned about your aging or even breathing lately you might want to talk to your doctor about your glutathione levels, or simply eat more of the foods that contain it. Glutathione is very important to the human body, and it always pays to make sure that you’re eating right and taking proper steps to maintain healthy levels.
